  • Were you able to figure out how to get both IIS6 and Apache 2 to run on the same Windows 2003 server? I am running into this same problem. :( Due to various reasons, few of my apps need to be under IIS6 while others require Apache and I only have 1 server.

This Windows 2003 server does have 2 separate addresses. However, it seems like as soon as I started the IIS WWW service, it will immediately takes up port 80 on all addresses. After that, the Apache service obviously can't bind to one of the IP address. The sites under IIS6 are configured to take up 1 IP address only.

  • However, If I configure Apache to run on a different port (such as 8080) then it would work fine.

  • Set IIS to listen on a different port.
